## 1. Gaming Platforms Integration

### Steam API

**Priority**: HIGH
**Timeline**: Q3 2026 (2 weeks)
**Complexity**: Medium

#### Features
- Link Steam profiles to GrieferHub accounts
- Fetch Steam user data (playtime, VAC bans, game library)
- Verify game ownership for report validation
- Display Steam profile badges on user profiles

#### Implementation

**Endpoints Needed**:
```typescript
// Steam Integration
GET  /api/integrations/steam/auth          // OAuth flow
GET  /api/integrations/steam/profile       // Get Steam profile
POST /api/integrations/steam/link          // Link Steam account
DELETE /api/integrations/steam/unlink      // Unlink Steam account
GET  /api/integrations/steam/games         // Get owned games
GET  /api/integrations/steam/bans          // Check VAC/game bans
```

**Data Model**:
```typescript
interface SteamIntegration {
    userId: string              // GrieferHub user ID
    steamId: string             // Steam ID64
    steamUsername: string       // Steam display name
    profileUrl: string          // Steam profile URL
    avatarUrl: string          // Steam avatar
    vacBanned: boolean         // VAC ban status
    gameBanCount: number       // Number of game bans
    daysSinceLastBan: number   // Days since last ban
    ownedGames: SteamGame[]    // List of owned games
    linkedAt: Date             // Link timestamp
    lastSynced: Date           // Last data sync
}
interface SteamGame {
    appId: number              // Steam app ID
    name: string               // Game name
    playtime: number           // Total playtime (minutes)
    lastPlayed: Date          // Last played timestamp
}
```

**Security Considerations**:
- Use Steam Web API key stored in environment variables
- Implement OAuth 2.0 for user authorization
- Rate limit: 100,000 calls per day (Steam's limit)
- Cache Steam data for 24 hours to reduce API calls

**Dependencies**:
- Steam Web API key
- `steamapi` npm package or custom implementation
- Redis for caching (optional but recommended)

    | 'report.rejected'
    | 'comment.created'
    | 'griefer.flagged'       // Multiple verified reports
    | 'user.banned'

interface WebhookSubscription {
    id: string

```
---
## 5. Rate Limiting Implementation
### Strategy
**Global Limits**:
- Unauthenticated: 60 requests/minute per IP
- Authenticated: 300 requests/minute per user
- API Key: Based on tier (see API Key section)
**Endpoint-Specific Limits**:
```typescript
const ENDPOINT_LIMITS = {
    'POST /api/reports': { limit: 10, window: '1h' },
    'POST /api/comments': { limit: 100, window: '1h' },
    'GET /api/reports': { limit: 300, window: '1h' },
}
```
### Implementation
**Middleware**:
```typescript
// src/middleware/rateLimit.ts
import rateLimit from 'express-rate-limit'
import RedisStore from 'rate-limit-redis'
import { Redis } from 'ioredis'

const redis = new Redis(process.env.REDIS_URL)

export const createRateLimiter = (options: {
    windowMs: number
    max: number
    message?: string
}) => {
    return rateLimit({
        windowMs: options.windowMs,
        max: options.max,
        message: options.message || 'Too many requests',
        standardHeaders: true,
        legacyHeaders: false,
        store: new RedisStore({
            client: redis,
            prefix: 'rl:',
        }),
    })
}

// Usage
export const apiLimiter = createRateLimiter({
    windowMs: 60 * 1000, // 1 minute
    max: 60,
})

export const strictLimiter = createRateLimiter({
    windowMs: 60 * 60 * 1000, // 1 hour
    max: 10,
})
```
